Shein’s sales are close to those of Zara and H&M
The picture
Online retailer Shein’s gross merchandise volume (GMV) is set to grow 50% to $30 billion this year, and its revenue is expected to reach $24 billion, putting it close to the world’s biggest fast-fashion giants, Zara and H&M. Shein, which launched in China 10 years ago and sells large quantities of clothing online at ultra-low prices, is now based in Singapore.
Shein also announced the opening of a new corporate office in Canada and the company’s first distribution warehouse in Toronto. It will also become SHEIN’s main distribution centre in the country, distributing fashion, beauty and lifestyle products to customers in all provinces and territories, thereby reducing the need for international ship
